McDonough Immigration Services is an immigration law firm that stands with people on the front lines of oppression: queer and trans migrants, families torn apart by borders, and those resisting violence and persecution. We provide fierce, compassionate legal advocacy for clients who are navigating a deeply unequal immigration system. Grounded in equity and committed to systemic change, we partner with our clients to amplify their voices, defend their rights, and work toward a future where dignity and freedom of movement are realities for everyone. We strive to fight every day for a world where no one is disposable, and everyone belongs.

MISSION

SERVICES

We have extensive experience helping human rights defenders, journalists, and women and LGBTQI+ individuals at risk seek asylum in the United States. We understand the unique challenges each case involves, from documenting sensitive experiences to preparing for difficult interviews. We guide you through each step with a deep understanding of global human rights conditions.
If you are an asylee, refugee, green card holder, or U.S. citizen, you may be eligible to sponsor them for U.S. permanent residence (green card). We specialize in supporting families who may be missing key documents or navigating displacement, helping you understand and pursue the complex processes of reunification, whether your loved ones are in the U.S. or abroad.

Marriage Based Immigration

Navigating the immigration system as a couple can feel overwhelming, intrusive, and emotionally taxing. We understand that no two relationships look the same and we work to ensure you’re treated with dignity and fairness as you access the protections you deserve. Our goal is simple: to help you and your loved one build your life together without fear of separation.
Becoming a U.S. citizen is a major milestone, but the naturalization process can feel overwhelming. We support you through every stage, including preparing for the civics and English tests, requesting disability waivers when needed, and ensuring you understand your rights and responsibilities.
The immigration system too often assumes a one-size-fits-all approach to families, leaving LGBTQ+ people and nontraditional families navigating extra hurdles. We provide affirming, informed, and strategic representation that respects your identity and your family.
